The traditional welcome breakfast organized by the Anadolu Student Union and Anadolu Student Community at Gaziantep University brought young people together around friendship and solidarity.
Undoubtedly, the most important building block that shapes the future of societies is young people. Their vision, energy, and the synergy they create when they come together stand before us as the greatest assurance of how bright tomorrow will be. University years are not merely about acquiring academic knowledge in classrooms; they are also a very critical stage of life in which character is shaped, lifelong friendships are formed, and social skills are developed. Acting with this awareness and aiming to contribute to the social development of young people, the Anadolu Student Union and Anadolu Student Community held a meaningful organization on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. This special event, organized with the slogan "One story, one table, a new beginning," was held at the Gaziantep University Youth Center.
STRONG FRIENDSHIPS WILL BE BUILT
The young people who filled the event area came together around a warm breakfast table, both gaining morale for the new academic year and having the opportunity to meet people from different cultures. The officials who spoke at the organization emphasized that they wanted young people to leave university having built strong friendships behind them. The speakers stated that their greatest goal was for young people to share their different talents and skills with groups made up of their peers.
MANY ACTIVITIES PLANNED THROUGHOUT THE TERM
During the breakfast program, various valuable activities to be held throughout the term were also introduced. The officials stated that they would organize weekly reading groups, monthly workshops, and home visits. Students will find opportunities to conduct in-depth research on subjects such as generating ideas and building people. In addition, following trips to cities such as Cappadocia and Kayseri in previous years, it was announced that a trip to Mardin is planned for October 24 this year to explore the city's historical texture. It was also stated that international volunteering opportunities would be offered within the scope of the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+ projects in order to broaden young people's horizons. It was shared that foreign volunteers coming from countries such as Portugal and Italy would teach English to young people and establish conversation clubs.
YOUNG PEOPLE GAIN COMPREHENSIVE SKILLS
The development of young people is not limited to their intellectual growth. In addition to sports activities such as volleyball, football, taekwondo, fitness, and swimming, practical skills are also supported through first-aid workshops. The iftar tables set up during the month of Ramadan and the Brotherhood Table events, where young people come together with orphaned children abroad, reinforce the awareness of solidarity and helping others. Located on campus, Pusula Book & Café serves as a warm home where young people can study whenever they wish and chat over tea. All these efforts enable young people who place justice and freedom at the center to stand shoulder to shoulder and add value to their surroundings.
The light in the eyes of the young people heralds to everyone that a brand-new and hopeful period has begun.
