21 Temmuz 2025
Bülbülzade Foundation and Anatolian Women and Family Association (AKADDER) organized a “Family Workshop” on 17 July 2025 in Aleppo, Syria.Representatives of women NGOs from the provinces of Gaziantep, Istanbul, Bursa, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Osmaniye, Hatay, Malatya, Osmaniye, Hatay and Antalya, as well as representatives of twenty different NGOs operating in Syria participated in the workshop, which aimed to develop a common perspective of women in civil society organizations in Syria and Turkey and to offer solutions to what is defined as a problem for all segments of society. The workshop started with the welcoming speeches of Turgay Aldemir, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bülbülzade Foundation, Rabia Aldemir, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AKADDER and Tuncay Doğan, Deputy Consul General of Aleppo, and was moderated by Fatma Eminoğlu, Member of the Board of Directors of AKADDER.Turgay Aldemir, President of Bülbülzade Foundation, said: "During the war in Syria, with the changing dynamics of the world, family codes, women's participation in the workforce, raising children, psychological support and resilience, strengthening family ties were the main topics of the workshop. Today, the freedom of Aleppo and Syria is as important for us as our own freedom. We will build the destroyed buildings and cities together, but if we cannot keep humanity and the family together, these cities cannot create peace and security. We have no doubt that Syria's state authorities, Syria's youth, people, neighbors and friends will work together to rebuild schools, mosques, factories and parks. However, if we neglect children, the disabled, women, the family while focusing on development, we will have beautiful cities, but we will not have peaceful families and children who believe in the culture of those cities. Therefore, the future of these cities depends on the work to be done at these tables."
