At the book analysis event organized by the Mozaik Women and Family Association, the work Rozalya Ana by author Sevinç Çokum was evaluated in depth.
Literature enthusiasts came together for a meaningful gathering at the Winter Garden of the Bülbülzade Foundation, with Ayşegül Günaslan presenting and Seyre Batuk moderating. Through the work written by Sevinç Çokum, one of the distinguished writers of Turkish literature, themes of exile, memory, belonging, and the unifying power of women in society were discussed in an emotionally charged atmosphere.
THE SYMBOLIC LANGUAGE OF SEVİNÇ ÇOKUM
The sorrowful pages of history were brought back to the attention of the audience through the exile stories of the Crimean Turks and the hardships experienced in the cotton fields of Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that the author conveys this great tragedy to readers through a symbolic and delicate language. The book left a profound impression through its structure, which draws on the testimony of nature, birds, and trees, encouraging people to move beyond their own perspective and reflect from the viewpoints of other living beings.
THE DEEP SCARS LEFT ON PEOPLE BY OPPRESSION AND MIGRATION
During the interactive analysis, participants shared examples from their own lives and stories they had witnessed. The deep scars left by oppression and migration on the human soul were discussed within a broad framework extending from the hardships experienced by Uyghur Turks to the resistance in Gaza. The role of women in keeping families together and transmitting culture from one generation to the next amid wars and cultural encirclement was emphasized. Through the character of Rozalya Ana, the resistance of strong women who remain firmly attached to their roots and succeed in walking shoulder to shoulder with their fate was deeply felt throughout the gathering.
The program, which also addressed the feelings of loneliness and inner exile brought about by modern times, once again revealed the healing power of literature on the human soul.
