The “Pusula: Reading, Thinking, Producing Youth” project, carried out by BİLİM-DER and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Interior, Directorate General of Relations with Civil Society, continues to bring young people together with historical and cultural values. Within this scope, a special program was organized in Mardin with the aim of developing young people's vision of civilization and enabling them to observe cultural heritage firsthand.
THE CRADLE OF CIVILIZATIONS
In the ancient city of Mardin, known as the cradle of civilizations, young people had the opportunity to closely explore the historical fabric of the region. In line with the project's core vision of fostering a generation that reads, thinks, and produces, the trip included visits to numerous historical sites. In this unique geography, where different cultures have coexisted for centuries, young people had the opportunity both to socialize and to gain firsthand knowledge of architectural and cultural heritage.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES WILL CONTINUE
While the Pusula Project aims to contribute to the personal development of young people, it places social cohesion and cultural awareness at its center. BİLİM-DER officials stated that such activities play a significant role in broadening young people's horizons and strengthening their sense of belonging. It was also stated that civil society initiatives have gained momentum thanks to projects supported by the Ministry and that similar cultural activities for young people will continue uninterrupted in the coming period.
