In the new term courses, women learn the fundamental techniques of garment production while also taking stronger steps towards participating in social life.
Operating under the umbrella of Bülbülzade Foundation, the Sewing Workshop has become a warm center of solidarity where women turn their handiwork into production. Reopening its doors in October with the support of Şahinbey Public Education Center, the workshop is welcoming new trainees under the coordination of Fatma Gerçek. Twenty trainees from different parts of Gaziantep are taking part in the training, gaining the opportunity to learn the fundamental techniques of garment production from beginning to end. Through these courses, women not only acquire a vocational skill but also find the courage to rewrite their own stories.
A SPACE FOR SHARING AND MOTIVATION
The workshop activities carry meanings far beyond those of an ordinary course environment. As the sound of sewing machines blends with the women's heartfelt conversations, the workshop transforms into a space for sharing and motivation. Stepping away from the rush of daily life, participants find opportunities to socialize by forming new friendships. Every piece of fabric where needle and thread meet turns into a brand-new hope in the hands of women, while also becoming a tangible contribution to society.
WOMEN GAIN STRENGTH THROUGH PRODUCTION
In the lessons titled “Fundamental Techniques in Garment Production,” trainees gain hands-on experience with every detail of the production process. These valuable skills lay the groundwork for women to stand on their own feet in the future and contribute to their household economies. Taking justifiable pride in developing themselves and creating entirely new products, participants gain great strength to assume more active roles in social life. The productive energy flourishing in the workshop once again reveals the transformative power of women in society.
