At the meeting organized under the coordination of the Bülbülzade Foundation Migrant Services Center, Syrian lawyers and judges discussed legal processes and issues related to social integration.
The Bülbülzade Foundation continues its comprehensive and multifaceted efforts aimed at migration and integration processes without slowing down. Following the consultation and evaluation meeting previously held with the participation of university students, this time the process continued with the participation of a specialized team consisting of Syrian legal professionals. Lawyers and judges who came together under the coordination of the Migrant Services Center thoroughly evaluated many critical topics under the umbrella of the Foundation, ranging from the legal status of refugees to social integration.
PATHWAYS TO ACCESS TO JUSTICE
Within the scope of the meeting, the temporary protection status of Syrians residing in Türkiye and the legal entry and exit procedures to and from Syria were discussed in all their aspects. Participants discussed the steps that could be taken to resolve the challenges encountered through legal frameworks and to further improve Syrians' access to justice. At the same time, an exchange of views took place on the current legislation governing foreigners in Türkiye, as well as the technical issues that should be taken into consideration during citizenship application processes.
INSTITUTIONAL EXPERIENCES WERE SHARED
Another important agenda item highlighted during the discussions was the transfer of Türkiye's long-established experience in civil society organizations to Syria. It was emphasized that sharing institutional experience is of great importance for regional stability and social development. While aiming to support the social integration processes of both children and adults, it is planned to continue joint efforts with determination regarding the effective use of legal mechanisms.
