As a result of the Disaster Nutrition Group Workshop organized by the Red Crescent, the Bülbülzade Foundation successfully completed the nutrition accreditation process within the scope of the Türkiye Disaster Response Plan (TAMP).
The Disaster Nutrition Group Workshop, held on 20–21 July 2026 under the coordination of the Turkish Red Crescent, has concluded. The Bülbülzade Foundation also participated in this significant event, which established the operational standards of civil society organizations and public institutions during disasters. As a result of the sessions conducted and the evaluations carried out, the Bülbülzade Foundation was officially accredited to provide nutrition services in disaster areas within the framework of the Türkiye Disaster Response Plan (TAMP). With this accreditation, the Foundation’s capacity to deliver reliable, standards-compliant food assistance to those in need during disasters and emergencies has been officially recognized at the national level.
A JOINT STRATEGY IN DISASTER RESPONSE
Throughout the workshop, the production processes, distribution strategies, and logistics planning of nutrition services during disasters were discussed in detail. The program began with the opening speech of Nurdal Durmuş, General Manager of Disaster and Community Services at the Turkish Red Crescent, followed by comprehensive presentations on the structure and operation of the Disaster Nutrition Group. During the two-day event, participants exchanged views on the rules and standards developed to ensure the efficient management of resources in disaster areas.
A GUARANTEE OF RELIABLE RESPONSE FROM OUR FOUNDATION IN TIMES OF CRISIS
One of the most significant outcomes of the event, the Disaster Nutrition Accreditation Guide 2026, aims to register the capacities of all service providers in accordance with national standards. The guide ensures that the basic nutritional needs of disaster victims and personnel working in the field are met in a timely, adequate, and hygienic manner. With this accreditation, the Bülbülzade Foundation has documented that it will act in accordance with the established food safety standards during times of crisis and carry out its responsibilities in coordination with other stakeholders within the disaster management system.
