“Artificial Intelligence Technologies” Session with Microsoft Projects Coordinator Abdurrahman Bulut

22 Kasım 2025

Abdurrahman Bulut, Project Coordinator at Microsoft Saudi Arabia, held a session titled “Dataism, Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Their Ontological Background,” focusing on philosophical and technological discussions. During the session organized at the Bülbülzade Foundation, important evaluations were made regarding the philosophical background of artificial intelligence.

Evaluating how the rapidly developing algorithmic structures of artificial intelligence construct a new technological worldview called dataism and how this affects the understanding of existence, Abdurrahman Bulut said, “The philosophy of artificial intelligence should be assessed within this scope. With artificial intelligence, most of our perspectives on life have changed. However, we must remember that artificial intelligence can produce information only as much as the data it is fed.” Emphasizing that artificial intelligence is not an ordinary software program, Bulut stated that General Artificial Intelligence, considered the second stage of AI, is at the doorstep.

“ARTIFICIAL SUPERINTELLIGENCE WILL BE THE LAST TECHNOLOGY HUMANITY WILL EVER INVENT.”

Pointing out that artificial intelligence offers an analytical structure capable of processing as much information as if it were merged with the brains of all humans on earth, Abdurrahman Bulut said: “Of course, we say that this is not real human intelligence, but a simulation of it. Yet for the sake of convenience, let’s continue to call it ‘intelligence.’ This is exactly where our concerns about the future begin. There are serious worries about what artificial superintelligence may be capable of and whether it can be controlled. Our main concern is the emergence of a truly super intelligence. Some even argue that artificial superintelligence may be the last technology humanity will ever invent. The second area of concern is timing. There is no definite date regarding this. The answers to the question ‘When will we reach general artificial intelligence?’ vary greatly. Some say between 2026–2030, others say 2027, 2030, 2035, or 2040. There is also a small number who say ‘never.’ In conferences, I usually share the estimate of 2035.”
