Bülbülzade Foundation President Turgay Aldemir and his delegation attended the first-ever “Inclusion and Empowerment Conference for Persons with Disabilities” held in Damascus, the capital of Syria.
The conference addressed the fundamental challenges faced by persons with disabilities and discussed policies and plans to enable their more effective integration into society. It touched upon the psychosocial support to be provided to those who became disabled by losing limbs during the Syrian civil war. At the same time, views were exchanged on strengthening the rights to education, health, employment, and social participation. The event was attended by Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Kabwat, Minister of Finance Muhammad Barnieh, the Governor of Damascus, as well as representatives of various international organizations, association officials, and Syrian businesspeople.
Through panel sessions, workshops, and presentations included in the conference program, the aim was to increase the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all areas of life and to enhance cooperation among all relevant parties for an inclusive and sustainable future.
