Bülbülzade Foundation Chairman Turgay Aldemir, Bülbülzade Foundation Board Member Hüseyin Rahmi Açıkkol, and Mozaik Association Chairwoman Rabia Aldemir paid a visit to Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin at her office. SOCIAL PROJECTS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ON THE AGENDA
Bülbülzade Foundation Chairman Turgay Aldemir shared with Fatma Şahin the activities carried out by the foundation in line with its principle of “developing resources and nurturing generations.” Emphasizing that the foundation is an active civil society organization not only at the local level in Gaziantep but also across borders and throughout Europe, Aldemir spoke about youth mobility programs conducted within the scope of Erasmus+, volunteer networks extending from Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the contributions of Anatolian Cultural Centers established in safe zones of Syria to the normalization process in the region. In addition, social responsibility projects carried out by Hayata Dokun Yetim Association, which works with disadvantaged groups, and Mozaik Women’s Association, which aims to strengthen the role of women in social life, were among the important topics of the meeting.
A LOGISTICS CENTER TO BE ESTABLISHED
Detailed information was provided to Fatma Şahin regarding cultural and artistic activities carried out through Katre Art Center, intellectual studies conducted within BEKAM (Science, Education, Culture and Research Center), and current projects of the Anatolian Student Union that contribute to the academic development of young people. The book prepared within the scope of the Tüten Ocak Family Symposium was presented to Fatma Şahin, and a discussion was held on its content. It was emphasized that joint meetings should be organized based on the fieldwork of civil society organizations, particularly Bülbülzade Foundation, without discrimination, and that the City Council should assume a unifying and integrative role in this regard. Regarding migration, the importance of Gaziantep continuing the initiatives it has taken to date in a more comprehensive manner was underlined. The idea of establishing a logistics center in Gaziantep was shared in order to enable the foundation to contribute more effectively to potential crises that may occur in the region.
The meeting concluded with a mutual exchange of views and messages of cooperation for the future of the city.
