A delegation consisting of Turgay Aldemir, Chairman of the Bülbülzade Foundation; Mehmet Ali Eminoğlu, Chairman of BEKAM; and Mustafa Alhüseyin, Chairman of the Syrian Community, paid a visit to Türkiye’s Consul General in Aleppo, Muammer Hakan Cengiz. Projects aimed at revitalizing the cultural and social life of the region were discussed.
The normalization process in Syria and the cultural revival in the region are gaining new momentum day by day. Ties between Gaziantep and Aleppo are also being strengthened once again. In particular, the steps taken to restore normal life in Aleppo are opening the doors to a future worthy of the region’s ancient history. On this occasion, the delegation consisting of Bülbülzade Foundation Chairman Turgay Aldemir, BEKAM Chairman Mehmet Ali Eminoğlu, and Syrian Community Chairman Mustafa Alhüseyin visited Türkiye’s Consul General in Aleppo, Muammer Hakan Cengiz. During the highly productive and cordial meeting, significant projects that will revive the cultural and social life of the region were discussed.
ALEPPO WILL REGAIN ITS FORMER SPLENDOR THROUGH CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
The main agenda of the visit focused on humanitarian, social, and cultural activities carried out across Syria and particularly in Aleppo. Sports activities and facility preparations to be implemented in cooperation with Nadi Muhafaza Sports Club, affiliated with the Damascus Governorate, and the Turkish Traditional Sports Federation were discussed. Information was shared regarding the planned radio broadcasting and publishing house projects to be established in the region in cooperation with YTB and TİKA. The park landscaping project to be carried out by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality in Aleppo was also discussed. Additionally, the operational structure of the Anatolian Cultural Centers, which will begin operating in Aleppo following Azez, Afrin, Al-Bab, and Jarablus, was reviewed.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Aleppo will regain its former splendor not merely through buildings, but primarily through cultural activities. Consul General Cengiz was also informed about the documentaries, short films, and reports prepared and published by the Bülbülzade Foundation during the Syrian civil war.
SYRIA’S PEACE IS TÜRKİYE’S PEACE
The most exciting news of the visit was that the Consulate General will begin providing services in its own building as of April. In addition, congratulations were conveyed on the occasion of the Turkish flag being raised again on January 20 one year ago, marking the start of the first diplomatic contacts after many years.
