The Anadolu Cultural Centers (AKM) of the Bülbülzade Foundation in Syria launched their summer education programs for children aged 7–17 in Aleppo, Afrin, Azaz, Al-Bab, and Jarabulus as of June 29.
Operating under the umbrella of the Bülbülzade Foundation in the Syrian regions of Aleppo, Afrin, Azaz, Al-Bab, and Jarabulus, the Anadolu Cultural Centers (AKM) have launched their summer school programs for children aged 7–17. On the first day of the programs, which aim to make a lasting contribution to the local community’s efforts toward social cohesion, normalization, and recovery, the students’ excitement and strong participation drew attention.
A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL CURRICULUM IS BEING IMPLEMENTED
The primary objective of the summer schools in Syria has been defined as supporting the recovery, normalization, and social cohesion efforts of communities deeply affected by conflict and displacement. In line with this goal, the program has been designed not only to provide children with academic content but also to strengthen them socially and culturally. Based on the summer school curriculum previously developed by the Anadolu Federation, the educational content includes Qur'an courses, Turkish and Arabic language courses, mathematics in nature, and computer science courses. In addition, physical activities such as swimming, horseback riding, and archery, as well as arts courses and social and cultural activities, have also been incorporated into the program.
AWARENESS OF SOLIDARITY IS BEING INSTILLED
The program also presents a noteworthy framework in terms of the values it aims to instill in children. Emphasizing the awareness of solidarity through the approach of "Not Me, But Us," the summer schools place self-confidence, self-expression skills, and social awareness at the center of their objectives. Designed around the principle of learning through enjoyment, the activities encourage children to take an active role throughout the process.
