The film "Reis Bey" met the audience at the Art Films Series event organized by the Bülbülzade Foundation Katre Art and Science Center.
Katre Art and Science Center added another meaningful link to its Art Films Series, where it journeys into the depths of cinema. At the event held on Wednesday evening, May 6, at 20:00 in the Zeugma Hall of Zade Life Hotel, one of the classic works of Turkish cinema, "Reis Bey," was brought under the spotlight. During the night, which saw strong participation, art lovers had the opportunity both to watch the film and to reflect on it in depth.
A GREAT TRANSFORMATION OF A MAN OF LAW
The focus of the comprehensive analyses conducted before and after the screening was the concept of “mercy,” which forms the main theme of the film. While participants discussed the great transformation and the moral reckoning experienced by a strict man of law, they emphasized the transformative power of mercy in human life. In the highly productive sessions, not only the message of the film but also its technical aspects were discussed.
DISCUSSED WITH A CRITICAL PERSPECTIVE
The production, approached from a critical perspective, was examined in many details ranging from the flow of the screenplay to editing choices. In the analyses where the realism and psychological depth of the characters were questioned, the work was evaluated from a contemporary perspective. This special evening, which once again proved that cinema is not merely something to watch, came to an end after opening new doors in the minds of art lovers.
