The Volunteer Organizations Platform (Gönül-Kur) and the Kilis Civil Solidarity Platform organized a convoy from Gaziantep to Kilis in support of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which set out to break Israel’s blockade on Gaza.
The Sumud support convoy, which started in Gaziantep and continued to Kilis, included participation from non-governmental organizations and citizens from all over Turkey, particularly from Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia. After the convoy, a phone call was made with the Sumud flotilla to receive the latest updates. In a press statement, Mahmut Kaçmazer, a Board Member of the Bülbülzade Foundation, said:
“The Sumud Convoy is not just a humanitarian organization, but also a symbol of a stance, a resistance, and the shared conscience of humanity. As Bülbülzade Foundation, we fully support this meaningful journey on land. We condemn Israel’s brutal siege and systematic oppression in Gaza. We also condemn the states and international organizations that remain silent in the face of this oppression, reminding them that such silence amounts to complicity. We are here to show that the people of Gaza are not alone. We are determined to make the voice of justice, mercy, and brotherhood heard around the world. The Sumud Convoy has set out to amplify this voice. We are part of this voice and its supporters until the end.”
The program ended with citizens chanting slogans in support of Palestine and offering prayers.
