Bülbülzade Foundation, BEKAM and AÖB participated in the trainings of the Türkiye - Italy cooperation project carried out within the scope of combating irregular migration flows in the Mediterranean.
The “Project Development Training for Civil Society Organizations,” which brought together civil society organizations operating in the field of migration and international students from across Türkiye, was held in Balıkesir. The program, implemented in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), was attended by Bülbülzade Foundation, BEKAM (Science Education Culture Research Center), AÖB (Anatolian Student Union), and the Civil Law Association.
CURRENT DATA AND STRATEGIES IN MIGRATION POLICIES
On the first day of the training, presentations delivered by officials from the Presidency of Migration Management addressed current data and government decisions regarding migration management. In the sessions where the fight against human trafficking and return statistics were particularly shared, the legal framework and implementation processes for civil society organizations in the field were explained in detail. This training focused on the complementary role of civil society in migration processes.
METHODOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION FROM IDEA TO PROJECT
During the intensive five-day program, participating organizations had the opportunity to learn from experts the techniques of transforming a social problem into a concrete project proposal. In the trainings delivered by the IOM Program Development and Monitoring units; stakeholder analysis, the creation of problem and solution trees, the logical framework approach, and SMART indicators were covered practically.
FIELD EXPERIENCE MEETS ACADEMIC METHODS
In the working groups established during the final stage of the program, representatives of Bülbülzade Foundation, BEKAM, and AÖB combined their field experience with academic project methods and carried out sample case analyses. The training process was completed through peer evaluations conducted on the prepared project drafts. With this training, Bülbülzade Foundation, BEKAM, and AÖB aim to place the projects they will implement in the upcoming period on a more sustainable basis in line with international standards.
