OMIM Media Academy, operating under the Middle East Media Communication Center and positioning media as both a way of life and a field of production, is launching the Artificial Intelligence and Generative Journalism Workshop on June 13.
OMIM Media Academy, which carries out its activities under the umbrella of the Bulbulzade Foundation and invites participants directly into the media kitchen with its hands-on approach, is introducing a new workshop program. The academy, which trains a new generation of media professionals who understand Gaziantep's sociocultural dynamics, have adapted to digital transformation, and have acquired a discipline of ethical production, is launching the Artificial Intelligence and Generative Journalism Workshop on June 13. This 10-week program positions artificial intelligence as a strategic smart assistant that accelerates processes in the newsroom, deepens research, and stimulates creativity.
MEDIA KITCHEN AND VISION TALKS
While participants will attend practical workshops each week under the title "Media Kitchen," they will also meet leading figures of the industry through "Vision Talks." Throughout the training, technical competencies such as prompt engineering, news production from 5W1H data, SEO optimization, and social media teaser writing will be taught through generative artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. At the same time, innovative applications including big data analysis, localization of multilingual content, and AI-powered visual production will be practiced in a laboratory environment.
CRITICAL PERSPECTIVES WILL BE DEVELOPED
While technical development is targeted throughout the program, media ethics and the fight against disinformation will also remain at the forefront. Participants will gain a critical perspective by learning the ethical boundaries of artificial intelligence use, methods for detecting deepfakes, and ways to identify manipulative content. At the end of the ten-week process, narrative architects who combine traditional journalism reflexes with the productivity of artificial intelligence will be introduced to the sector. Successful participant projects will be featured on local and national publishing platforms, and official certificates will be presented to participants upon completion of the training.
