Young People Take Care of Nature: Green Skills

Supported by the Turkish National Agency and implemented by the Green Hope Association, the first event of the project “Young People Protect Nature: Green Skills” project's first event started in Gaziantep.The project, carried out in cooperation with EMU Association from France, Us Akademiker Plattform from Germany and Bridge Association from North Macedonia, aims to direct young people to environmental issues, raise awareness about global environmental problems and promote resilience.The activity started with introductions and breakfast. Afterwards, the participants visited the activity areas of Bülbülzade Foundation and Green Hope Association and received information about the organization. Turgay Aldemir, President of Bülbülzade Foundation, Mehmet Ali Eminoğlu, President of BEKAM and Cumali Kaplan, President of Green Hope Association emphasized the responsibilities that civil society should assume in the field of sustainable environment. Participants shared information by presenting examples of good environmental practices in their countries.Environmental Activist İbrahim Kılıç made a presentation titled “What Can Young People Do for Environmental Sustainability?”. After the presentation, a question-answer session was held and the thoughts and questions of young people on the subject were evaluated. After lunch, a city tour titled “Sustainable Cities” was organized under the guidance of Hüseyin Rahmi Açıkkol, President of Gaziantep City Council Sports Working Group.The week-long program will include activities such as group discussions, project development workshops, a visit to an energy production and recycling center, sapling planting and a visit to Bülbülzade Foundation's Salvation Forest.
